Our Purpose

Dogs in the Wild exists for one purpose, to preserve the spirit of your beloved best friend through honest, artistic photography. We don’t just take pictures of dogs. We capture their essence in the wild places they love most—on mountains, through golden fields, along winding rivers, beside quiet lakes, and under forest canopies. Whether it’s a clear summer day, a foggy morning, or a snow-covered trail, we follow dogs where they feel most alive.

We understand how fleeting their time with us can be. That’s why our mission is rooted in something deeper than photography. It’s about creating lasting art that celebrates your dog’s personality, passion, and presence. These aren’t just photos. They’re memories made permanent, moments frozen in time, and a way to keep your dog’s wild heart with you always.

Who we are

Dogs in the Wild is an off the beaten path venture by Mike Hosier. Mike is a dad of two humans and six dogs, a graphic designer, golden retriever breeder, dog photographer, and all-round dog lover. Dogs and creative work have been an enormous part of Mike’s life. In 2002 Mike’s dogs were the reason he left the corporate 9-to-5-life to dedicate more time to his family & dogs. Through the years Mike’s work, and the people he’s worked with have changed, but his passion for dogs and creating compelling visuals has not, and it’s this passion that drives this venture, Dogs in the Wild.

When not working for a client, Mike can be found photographing his Golden Retrievers in nature any chance he gets to document various stages of their lives. After sharing his photo work in social media for many years, Mike expanded his photography services to other passionate dog people.

Licensing and Usage

WSW and WS digitals are for online sharing, social media, websites, and SMS, these files are not permitted to be printed under our licensing.

HR and SR digitals are for personal printing such as for wall art, there is no limit to how many times you can print, but you can not sell these photos, or use for commercial purposes. Commercial purposes are product or business advertising, television, and magazines, or other uses deemed as commercial. We do not deem dog shows or dog breeding to be commercial usage and grant rights for these purposes as personal.

Our photos can not be included in any photography contests.

Dogs In The Wild is the copyright holder as the creator / image maker and reserves the right to use any image for our promotions such as books, websites, ads, and more.

Requirements and important information

Well behaved dogs produce the best result. Ideally your dogs should be safe off-leash, you can opt to have your dogs leashed, or on a long-line during the photo shoot, or have your photos taken in a fenced in area if safety is a concern. Your dog is your responsibility, you are required to be present at the time of the shoot. Your dog must be up to date with all vaccines and treated for flea & tics while outdoors. At no point is Dogs in the Wild liable for damage, injury, accident, or death of any person or animal while on a photoshoot. When you purchase a photoshoot you do so at your own risk. Dogs with aggressive traits will be not permitted, and we reserve to right at anytime to stop a shoot, or refuse to shoot, if safety is a concern with no refund.

Payments are accepted online via a credit card. There will be a 3% transaction fee added to all invoices.
